Hogans returns as Beach

 
The venue formally known as Hogans Beach is now returning as Beach. The venue was formally owned by Hulk Hogan. The venue originally got shut down due to noise complaints and racist complaints from Hogan himself. A video transcript surfaced of Hogan making racist remarks and after multiple complaints the owner of Hogans Ben Mallah decided to shut down and re-brand. It is currenlty known as Beach and is still pulling huge artist like Hogans did. Some shows coming up are Ruby Rose and W&W occurred a while ago. Hopefully the re branding will help business and it will not get shut down anytime soon.

The Ritz taking over

I recently found out that The Ritz in Ybor is giving nights of residency to AMP. The 6 room venue will be giving AMP its Friday and Saturday to have its shows and regular nights. It is amazing that the Filthy Richard team is allowing another venue in the community share a space they have had residency at for a while. While at a local bar in Tampa, The Retreat the bartender said rumor has it they might become businees partners and AMP might buy The Ritz. This could just be rumor mill but if so it would be an amazing partnership if it resumes as so. AMP is still rebuilding and is said to be repaired in nine months or less.

Spring Loaded Tour Review

On Sunday I attended the Spring Loaded at The Ritz in ybor. There were a couple of hiccups before even entering the venue. The line to entered was super long and disorganized. Usually the venues have VIP, 21 and over lines and under 21. The line for this venue forked off into three different branches but once you went to the front of the line it led to one massive line. The line took over thirty minutes to get in. Before I entered security thoroughly checked my wallet which made me feel secure. When my friend and I entered Ookay was playing his set. He did an amazing job and his set was trapped filled. He dropped his newest track that I am in loved with called Thief. Then DATIK came on and his set was just as amazing. The visuals behind him were very creative and the lasers were the perfect touch. He played a bunch of classics inclued that track with snoop dog that I mentioned earlier in my blog. Also while he was playing his set beach balls were flying around the crowd. It was definitely one of my top favorite shows.

Different Venues in Tampa

All though I have been very loyal to  The Amphitheatre Event Facility Tampa offers a ride range of other EDM venues! Another venue located very closely to Amp is The Ritz. The show I blogged about earlier has been moved to this venue. The Ritz is a multi room venue. What I love about this venue is that multiple Dj's will be playing in separate rooms at the same time while the headliner will be playing in the main room. I also enjoy the tile floor and the atmosphere. I saw Key's N Krates a year back and fell in love with this venue.

Another venue that Ive never personally checked out is Shepard's Beach resort. Its a night club wiht a beach style venue which is know to pull big acts like W&W and Dada Life. My friends mention how they love who the venue and say it has a classier feeling interior. Another venue that has recently changed names is Beach formerly known as Whiskey Joe's. This venue is trying to make a come back after being shut down due to noise ordinances. The venue previously pulled huge artists like Cash Cash, Skrillex, and Zeds Dead. It is a outdoor venue on the beach. I loved going because its an amazing feeling to be listening to live music with your toes in the sand.

It's not the end it's the beginning

On Wednesday April 7 at 7:47 p.m. a fire was reported to 911 a The Amphitheatre Event Facility in Ybor. A wielding incident was suspected in the three alarm fire. According to the news two firefighters were hospitalized but both existed the hospital with minimal injuries. This news was devastating

due to the fact hat this club was my home for the three years I have been in Tampa. That picture was just a promo from one of dozen of shows and events I've attended over my three years in Tampa. The bouncers, Dj's, and various staff have acted as my second family. I have attended some of my favorite shows at this venue. In efforts to build up customer moral and deliver the venue has already move two recent shows to different venues and honored tickets that were previously purchased before the fire. The venue staff says that Amp will be back in 9 months or less. I am happy to also say that I will be finally attending and reviewing The Spring Loaded Tour as promised earlier.

Hi EDM friends, since I have not been to a show in a while I will be going to DATSIK's Spring Loaded tour at The Amphitheater on April 16. The support for the show features Drezo and OOKAY as opening artists.  DATSIK is a Canadian producer who founded the label Firepower.
